Bruce Crowther, CEO Northwest Community

Our speaker was “2006 Duffer of the Year” Bruce Crowther, President and CEO of Northwest Community Hospital. Bruce had come to share some information with us about the hospital and its marketplace. Northwest Community Hospital located in Arlington Heights was opened in 1959 based upon a kit design from the American Hospital Association. Today it is one of the largest hospitals in Illinois with 4000 employees, 500 beds, 1000 doctors and 800 volunteers. It is not a teaching hospital. The hospital’s focus is on providing patient care. In order to achieve that, there is a $350 million development plan over the next 5 years to improve customer (patient) services to respond to consumer’s needs. In addition to private rooms, there will be improved information systems that enable consumers to make better decisions for making medical care choices and for easy access to their medical records.
