Windy City Charitable Games

Today we heard Dan Tumbarello, President of Windy City Charitable Games, talk about his new company that manages licensed gaming events for qualified charitable organizations and unlicensed “Casino Events” for any organization. His company performs all of the tasks of organizing, hosting and follow-up including preparing the tax return for the charity; and, guarantees that each event is profitable. The company began business in January 2009 and so far has generated profits for the hosting charities between $1000 and $3000. To have such an event, the hosting organization need only set the date and supply 4 to 8 volunteers to handle the money.

For licensed gaming events the qualified organization must be not-for-profit and tax exempt and include 501c(3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 19). The charitable organization must have been established for 5 years before they will conduct a gaming event.

Gaming events they conduct are Texas Hold’em Tournaments and Casino Events – Texas hold’em, Blackjack, Roulette and Caribbean Stud. They work with premier suppliers to provide a deluxe casino atmosphere.
