Bob Nash—Classification Speech

Bob Nash, classification Insurance, told us about himself. Born 1955 in Northbrook, Illinois Bob grew up in a family of seven. He attended Glenbrook North High School and participated on the gymnastics team for 2 ½ years. His original love for speed skating was dampened when he lost a race to Anne Henning who later went on to win the 1972 Olympic gold medal for women’s speed skating.
In 1977 Bob received a B.S. degree from Northern Illinois University majoring in Marketing. Upon graduation he began working for Pullman Corporation. Two years later, he moved to Phoenix and then Boston, working for Digital Equipment Corporation. Moving back to Chicago he worked for Rockwell Telecommunications as a Business Analyst Consulting for SBC, and Discover Financial Services. Bob was hired as a Director in their IT Program Management office at CNA Insurance on the eve of 9/11. While working there he attended graduate school at DePaul University and also obtained his pilot’s license. For the past five years Bob has been representing AFLAC insurance as a District Manager.
Bob married Kristi in 1993 and lived in Arlington Heights for 10 years with their two children Grant and Whitney. He was assistant Scout Master for Troop 32. They now live in Tower Lakes.
At the age of 10, Bob started playing the guitar and continues to this day playing in four bands.
Bob and his wife recently got involved with the Habitat for Humanity and will assist in the construction of homes in Waukegan.
