Club Happenings at May 14th Meeting
Announcements
At the 14th’s meeting, President-Elect, Bill Hoff, reminded us that the installation dinner for District Governor “Bill” Ferreira, will be held Wednesday July 1st, at 5:30 p.m. at The Cotillion Banquets in Palatine. In keeping with the times, Gov. Ferreira has endeavored to keep the price low for this special event of fellowship and the opportunity to talk with Rotary International’s president-elect, Ray Klinginsmith. Contact Bill Hoff or the Rotary Club of Long Grove, 847-991-6647, or go on-line to www.RotaryJuly1Dinner.com.
Fine Master's Corner
Substitute Fine Master, Jim Hassenplug, did a fine job, giving a special Fine Master’s Honorable Mention to Kris Stabler and Jim Bertucci for their work on our fine fund raiser. Happily, they both paid fines as well. Prize winner Linda Barton was happy about (and with) her mom’s big-screen TV!
Happy to be back to the club are Bill (Cake-Man) Mahoney and Jan (Lookin’ Refreshed) Behrens. A great Mother’s Day at Arlington Park was recognized, and resident sage, the Honorable Jim Ryan, was happy to be honored by the Wisconsin Bar Association. Special guest, Assistant Gov. Walter Friker, celebrated his son deciding to continue with college – best wishes! The quiz was about other winners, too – the new Blackhawks. One of several questions was, “Who was the net minder, “Mr. Goalie”? Take a dollar off the table if you guessed (spelled backwards) llah nnelg.
