How to start earning money quickly as a freelancer or consultant

Presenting our program today was consultant and free-lance writer Diana Schneidman, explaining ways she said will enable the unemployed and underemployed to escape from the frustration and paralyses, the blows to the pocket book and ego, which can be part of the full-time job hunting. She advised becoming a freelancer or consultant because it addresses several needs.
Such work provides money. It provides interest and activity in live, and gives a feeling of achievement. In the process, one can polish skills and develop additional ones. It fills resume gaps and, as a bonus, lets you create your own job.
Diana shared tips for how any of us, as well as our family and friends, can do this, whether for the short term while looking for a corporate job, or for the long haul. Focusing on how to get started, she said to go after assignments similar to one’s last good job, noting this is the work you know best. Second is to phone the best prospects, giving some of her web pages which can help.
For what to say when phoning a prospect, see budurl.com/z5tl. To find people to phone for freelance and consulting assignments, budurl.com/2cte. To know if your phone campaign is working, budurl.com/chan. To decide whether to ask the same person for a full time job at the same time, budurl.com/bab8.
A third is aspect is to “be real”, with a focus on commitment – 50 calls a day, five days a week, for four weeks! The goal is to turn things around quickly – not in 30 minutes, but in 30 days. She said that since 1992 she has developed marketing techniques and a practical outlook, doing so out of necessity as the sole financial support for a family with three children. She has had full-time jobs since then, but has kept up her consulting/freelance work.
A key to success here is resilience and persistence. The name of her company reflects this – www.StandUp8Times.com, based on the old Japanese proverb saying “Fall down seven times, stand up eight! She suggested sharing these ideas and her contact information with others, saying she has much free information as well as doing fee-based work.
