Videos from Rotary International

As they say, “Life happens!” In our case, Tim Corrigan rose to the occasion upon learning of a canceled program, and we were the better for it. He showed two videos from the Rotary International Website. One was about Rotary’s change to admitting women as members, including heart-felt commentary from women Rotarians around the world, and the good work they do. Afterwards, someone thought he heard a murmur from the female members of the club, offering to pay Tim’s fines in recognition of his (and their) good judgement! This video can be found at Rotary Video Magazine - Women in Rotary

The other was a biography of RI President John Kenny, giving a portrait of a caring, local Rotarian who became a leader at Rotary International -- an inspiring portrait of a good man. This video can be found at Rotary Video Magazine - John Kenny: A People's Man

The use of these videos points is a reminder of the resources available through the District and International web sites. Both have been modernized, with useful tools and inspiring information. When surfing the web, pause, click and check them out.

Curly’s daughter, Dawneen Blakeslee, visiting today from Idaho, had special appreciation for this program. Bob Paddock told the club of an event our Impresario Emeritus, Curly, had organized featuring a high school’s performing group. A bad winter storm came up and the entertainment for the Rotary party had to cancel. Ever resourceful, Curly asked his talented daughter to perform. She sang beautifully. Today she said, “Whew!” when she learned there were videos.
